The Loire-Atlantique Food Bank has chosen solar energy

The Loire-Atlantique Food Bank has entrusted Libre Énergie with the installation and installation of a 36 kWp photovoltaic solar power plant on its building. We are proud to collaborate with this non-profit association whose values touch us. The role of the Food Bank is to collect, manage and share food for the most disadvantaged. The Loire-Atlantique branch thus distributes food aid to more than 16,500 beneficiaries in the department.

Combating waste in all its forms

This solar installation supplies the Food Bank site, located next to Nantes Airport, and thus reduces its electricity bill by self-consuming almost all of the solar production. The fight against waste, be it food or energy, is more relevant than ever and requires strong and committed decisions. By entrusting Libre Énergie with carrying out this project, the Loire-Atlantique Food Bank aligns itself with its convictions.

Libre Énergie adapts to the prerogatives of the DGAC

Given the proximity of the site to the airport, it was necessary to install low-luminance photovoltaic panels to comply with the criteria imposed by the DGAC (General Directorate of Civil Aviation). The risk of visual disturbance that could be caused by the reflection of the sun on the photovoltaic panels for pilots and air traffic controllers has been taken into account. The solar panels produced by Libre Énergie for this project perfectly respect these prerogatives and do not affect visual comfort.
